Natural Phenomenon [Supernova]

Supernovae are exploding stars. They represent the very final stages of evolution for some stars. Supernovae, as celestial events, are huge releases of tremendous energy, as the star ceases to exist, with about 1020 times as much energy produced in the supernova explosion as our Sun releases every second. Our Sun, fortunately, will not end its life as a supernova.
Currently, supernovae are only seen in galaxies other than the Milky Way. We know that supernovae have occurred in our Galaxy in the past, since both Tycho Brahe and his protege, Johannes Kepler, discovered bright supernovae occurring in the Milky Way in 1572 and 1604, respectively.
And, the Chinese, and others, have records of a "guest star" occurring in 1054 in the present constellation Taurus. Today, we see remnants of all three supernovae, which appear as expanding clouds of gas, where each was originally discovered. However, no supernova has been seen in our Galaxy since Kepler's.

Supernovae, when they are discovered, are designated by the year in which they are discovered, and the order in which they are discovered during that year, by using members of the alphabet. For instance, the fourth supernova discovered this last year was named SN 1998D, which occurred in the galaxy NGC 5440.

The brightest supernova since Kepler's supernova was discovered on February 23, 1987, in the nearby galaxy, the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). This supernova was easily seen with the naked eye throughout 1987 in the Southern Hemisphere. This supernova was named SN 1987A. This supernova is still being observed by a number of telescopes, particularly, the Hubble Space Telescope. Another bright recent supernova, observable from the Northern Hemisphere, was SN 1993J in the galaxy Messier 81 (M81).

As of 1998 January 1, 1270 supernovae have been discovered since supernovae first really began to be catalogued in 1885, when a supernova went off in the nearby Andromeda galaxy.

At this post I want to explain my advertisement picture that I drew at my English class this afternoon. We’ve been given a task by our teacher to draw an advertisement, whether the advertisement is about food, clothes, or motivating. I took the motivating one, Here is my drawing, sorry if it’s so simple.

In my drawing, I drew a big clock that have “start” word on the smaller clockwise at 3 o’clock. And I wrote “You have 15 hours to spend! Value your time!” and also I wrote many things and symbols that related to the activities that we often spend at out free time. The moral value that I want to tell from my drawing is, we as a student spend more than a quarter of our day to study at school, and if we have extracurricular activities or course after school, we will have half of our day used, and we will spend a quarter/half of our day again to study at school tomorrow. So we must spend our time that we still have to do activities that will make us comfortable, so tomorrow we will be ready for school again, with no regret for not doing something that you want at your free time yesterday. That’s all what I can explain and thank you.

My First Semester's Holiday

At this post I want to tell you about All of my activities that I did at Last weekend that starts from the middle of December to the beginning of January. I hope I don’t have many grammar mistakes from this post.

My school’s holiday started from Wednesday, 24th December 2014, but some of them had fewer days for holiday and some of them had enjoyed their holiday one week or few days earlier from the original time. I’m one of the people who had enjoyed the holiday 1 week earlier, that’s because I had all of my scores above the average, so I didn’t take any remedials  and freed from school earlier. The point is I had 3 weeks of holiday. I made my activity schedules so I would have activities to do every time.

At the first week, I gathered with my friends to make a game project for our extracurricular activities. My friends who made a game project with me are Faris from X-2 and Ariel from my class, X-4. I was in charged of making the Story and the Background music, Faris was in charged of Script Editing, and Ariel was in charged of making the background and the characters. This project was already worked for months ago but we still can’t finish it until now, but the progress is already 90% .

At the second week. One of my old friends treated me foods and games at Paris van Java. He treated me because that’s his way for celebrating his birthday, that means I joined his birthday party. I went to Paris van Java at noon with my friends being invited too. There, I ate a lot because I hadn’t had breakfast at the morning. After that I talked a lot with my friends about our daily lives at schools. Done with the talking, Me and my friends played many arcade games at GameMaster. Of course, we still being treated by my friend.

At this second week too I started to be active at Karate. I hadn’t been active for 1 month because I’m too busy with my school’s business. The Karate practice was so tough because I didn’t participate for 1 month. But because of that I lose my weight a bit and had my techniques back.

At the last week of my holiday. I just stayed at home and played computer games as long as I can. Well, I’m a gamers so that activity is necessary to maintain my title as a gamers. At this week I usually slept late, about 2-4 hours only. Well, that’s all about my holiday and I fell satisfied with my holiday.

Storytelling

Sweet Porridge
A small fable about a magic pot that cooked porridge

There was a poor but good little girl who lived with her mother. They had nothing to eat. One day, the child went into the forest, and there an aged woman met her who was aware of her sorrow. She gifted her with a little pot, which when she said, "cook, little pot, cook", would cook good, sweet porridge, and when she said, "stop, little pot", it ceased to cook.
The girl took the pot home to her mother, and soon they were freed from their poverty and hunger, and ate sweet porridge as often as they chose. Once on a time when the girl had gone out, her mother said, cook, little pot, cook. And it did cook and she ate till she was satisfied, and then she wanted the pot to stop cooking, but did not know the word. So it went on cooking and the porridge rose over the edge, and still it cooked on until the kitchen and whole house were full, and then the next house, and then the whole street, just as if it wanted to satisfy the hunger of the whole world, and there was the greatest distress, but no one knew how to stop it. At last when only one single house remained, the child came home and just said, stop, little pot, and it stopped and gave up cooking, and whosoever wished to return to the town had to eat his way back!

Matswapati

I should have posted my post about Matswapati since 2 months ago, but it's ok. It's my task for my English class after all, at least my teacher still let me fulfill this task even Matswapati happened 2 months ago.

Matswapati is a tradititional culture festival that is held by my school at 27th September  and it took place at Bali Field near Senior High School 5, Senior High School 3. There, you can visit many booths that contain traditional culture from Jawa Barat. Each of the booths are managed by each class from 1st grade to 3rd grade. There is a big stage too there, many performances from Senior High 3 students and local artists are held there, The stage and the booths area is at Football Field. At the Basketball field, there are many Food stalls, some of them sells local foods like Fried Rice, Bajigur & Bandrek. and some of the stalls sells western food.

1 Day before the event, me and my classmates went to Bali Field to prepare our traditional culture booth. We decorate our booth as attractive as we can so there will be many people come to our booth. At the day of the event, we performed a parade as the opening of the event, also Bandung's mayor Mr. Ridwan Kamil came there to make the official openin for Matswapati

Thats all that I can tell about Matswapati, thank you for reading.
